Qatar International Food Festival

A little while back, Qatar hosted an international food festival. I am not a huge foodie, and anyone who knows me can tell you that I am quite particular about what I will eat. Nevertheless, I had to check it out. Read more...

Qatar is preparing itself for summer by scorching us every day. We have started up our "Red Flag Days" again, which means that the heat index is too hot and we have to have recess and lunch inside.

Which is any teacher's nightmare.

Before we succumbed to the desert heat on one of the last nice days, we headed over to the Museum of Islamic Art Park for the festival.

One of the top draws of this festival, which I would seriously consider doing was the "Dine in the Sky."

Everyone who is willing to fork over the money gets to strap themselves in to a table that is connected to this crane which then gets hoisted up into the air.

Because who wouldn't want to do that?

While those people were enjoying the view, I was wondering around to see the international cuisine.

Like Shake Shack.

They had healthy recipes posted around the park and even an area where you could learn about growing your own fruits and vegetables.

As we strolled along we got a glimpse of Doha's wildlife in action (stray cats sighting some birds).

I ate my nachos (yum!) while watching the people dine in the sky.

And because it's Qatar and it's a strange place we also got to watch a drone fly around with the moon high in the sky (it's in the bottom right corner).

After my Mexican food I also treated myself to crepes!
So international of me.
While munching on random food items we were treated to various acts on the stage including what I can only describe as pizza juggling.

Now as I watch the sun beating down outside my window with my dry air conditioned air (I have to wear a sweatshirt in my apartment) I wish for just one more of those nice winter Doha days.
